Top Shelf was founded by Jason Bellaconis, who developed a love of carpentry, woodworking, and craftsmanship at a young age while working alongside his father in his workshop. He fell in love with designing and building all kinds of things — first individual pieces of furniture, then matching sets, then houses.
Originally he went to school studying Special Education, and worked in carpentry on the side as a college-job. He found carpentry to be relaxing, the work rewarding, and the ability to make his own schedule an undeniable bonus. After several years of working in the mental health field, he decided to go back into remodeling and has been there ever since.
In 2016 he moved to the PNW with his wife, and shortly after founded Top Shelf Home Services. His goal was to operate Top Shelf with a different business model than most contractors — with transparent pricing, a solid warranty for all work, and zero up-charge for materials. Since then he’s grown from a single owner and operator, to having a crew of trusted carpenters.
